NYC to Tel Aviv on Flying Blue - need help
« on: April 08, 2010, 10:04:46 PM »
i have 100,000 flying blue points.  I would like to go to Israel in January 12-23 2011.  To go through France or Italy will cost over $900 per person in addition to 50,000 FB points.  I found flights via Amsterdam on KLM for 50,000 FB points and $415 in taxes and fees per person.  Additionally, there is a direct flight for the return leg via delta although the only availability is in Business Class.  This will cost an extra 25,000 FB points and $115 per person.  Is the Amsterdam deal worth it?  is the business upgrade direct TLV:NYC worth it?  is there any other way to use these points so that they are not wasted?

any help would be much appreciated

You can also just wait and try using a Promo award.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

this will save some points-but the taxes/fees will still be high.  Do you have any other suggestions?  Also, not every promo period includes a NYC option as i see this promo run only includes Chicago, Houston and Montreal from North America, unless im missing something

I would double check the taxes. I think you are quoting for two people. 900$ seems too high per person even for FB.

$900 is definitely for 2.
