Just booked flights to Lanai - I'll be flying over for one day during my Maui trip in August.

Has anyone here been and has some ideas or suggestions? So far I've booked a jeep by Adventure Lanai - they'll meet be at the airport with a fully stocked Wrangler - ice chest, beach chairs, maps, etc. I would want to do the Munro Trail, but there have been some reports that it's been permanently closed to motorized vehicles. I also plan on going to the Garden of the Gods and Shipwreck Beach, maybe Sweetheart Rock.

Anyone have some other off-road trails or beaches to recommend? Hulopoe Beach is supposedly not safe for swimming in the summer.

I have found paradise and it is Lanai.

Kauai, the Big Island, and Hana could all take back seat.

Trip report coming soon...

I thought I'd necro this thread.

I have a Niihau helicopter landing tour scheduled for 12/29/16.

Also, just booked 5 nights at the Four Seasons Manele Bay in Aug. 2017.

@Something Fishy. ..thank you for the awesome TR.
