« on: April 09, 2010, 09:30:54 AM »
 Hope this helps some of you and at the same time will prevent others from starting new threads when the info can be found via 1 of these links;

1- Which is a good seat and which to avoid?

  a-http://www.seatguru.com/ this is good only when you are flying to or from the US what if not all your flights will be then check here:

 b- http://www.seatmaestro.com/

 2- What the fastest or cheapest or any way to get from the Airport to the City: (keep in mind that its probably not up to date with the prices or what it will be in US$ as currencies change on a daily basis if not by the min, but the info is usually on the spot, great for Overseas)

          http://toandfromtheairport.com/

 3- Wheres there a minyan:

 a- www.godaven.com

 b- www.youngisrael.org

 c- www.ou.org

 4- Kosher Food;

 a- http://jewisheurope.org/

 b-http://kosherdelight.com (not the NY restaurant they have a list of Kosher Hotels as well)

 c-http://www.kashrut.com/travel/

 d-http://www.totallyjewishtravel.com/

 e-http://www.shamash.org

  Not resposible for any of the Kashrus make sure to not only make sure its acceptable to you but that the places still exist

 for any Country try googling say Jewish Norway and then look for something that will have what you need

if you want information about the place you are visiting and about which spots to hit up, make sure to check wikitravel.org, lots of great info!

  • Location: The value of a forum such as this one is not in that one can post a question and receive an answer, but in that the question has most likely been asked before, and the answer is available to him that will but only use the search function.
  • Programs: 1. Search on google. 2. Search in the right board of DDF with a general word or two. 3. Read the wiki. 4. Read the thread. 5. Ask away.

Um I think he forgot chabad.org and search according to city, then email or call the local shliach. I've found that many out of country shluchim only do phone contact and ignore or don't check emails.

Usually the most reliable and and up to date travel info can be found on the TripAdvisor forums. Also you can ask questions from locals and people ego really know an area. (Of course for Jewish info it won't work though).

Also there is an app called KosherRestaurantsGPS that lists reliable restaurants, Mikvahs, and minyanim throughout the US and Canada.

^ I've heard that sometimes it lists restaurants that aren't completely reliable. But who knows for sure, I guess. KosherNearMe app was great in London.

I believe KRGPS tries to only list reliable hashgacha. Kosher near me will list any kosher style place. That's why KRGPS only does the USA and Canada - because it's hard to maintain up to date info on hashgacha. If you feel that a place has a questionable hashgacha, you can email KRGPS through the app so they can verify it and correct it since hashgachas can change frequently .

You always need to verify for yourself but I've found KosherRestaurantsGPS to be the most reliable.
