New Rule with AMEX Bonuses

I recently applied with a 2browser method for the Amex Platinum and Amex Mercedes which both had a startup bonus of 50k. I met the spending requirements and AMEX told me that they recently had a lot of training and that they will not offer 2 bonuses for 2 cards in the same family. Now thats horrible.

I did the spending and I called 2 separate times to customer service and I got the same exat response.

I am getting a suspicion that we may be in an early transition phase where AMEX may actually start to execute on its bonus limitation rules that we all used to ignore.  Hope I am wrong though!

I got 3 Amex cards(SPG,Plat MB and Gold) and hit threshold pretty quickly with a few purchases here and there. I got a point advance(and sign up bonus) for both cards(Gold and Plat) and SPG I have a sm stating the bonus will be applied shortly. You need to keep hounding them and you will get it.

Let us hope this will not be the case at least for a while to come but seems like complaints are mounting.

Did you at least get one 50K already? If yes, did one come in without calling or you had to call for that one also.

Another point which isn't clear are you doing it again for the second time recently as that is a reason many aren't getting it posted automatically when u do the spend.

Or why you thought it was a good idea to call them up immediately after meeting spend asking where your points are. They could of notated your account now, and not in a good way. What happened to being patient and not drawing attention to yourself?

They seems do not posted 50K points automatically any more. I had two cards that I have met the spending requirement, but have not gotten points posted on either of them.

When was the last time you applied for Plat cards before these most recent two?

My latest PRG bonus does not appear to be automatically posting either.  This would be the second PRG card in 12 months (previous was closed long before applying for this one).

I churned them often. They always posted automatically before. Now I had to email them to get points posted.

My latest PRG posted automatically. My previous card was approved 7 months before the latest one.
