fantasy football discussion
« on: September 05, 2012, 01:17:53 AM »
being that many DDf'ers play fantasy football I thought there should be a thread where we can share advice/opinions/general observations with each other. for example who to start/sit, acquire/trade and all things fantasy related

I will start
debating who to start @QB
1)Matt Ryan @ kc
2)Peyton Manning v. pit

I am leaning to Ryan. since Peyton has something to prove and he is playing against PIT
just to add a twist i could get burned double if Peyton has big game (PITs corners are medicore) my Def. is PIT

Not only are their corners mediocre, Ryan Clark is out. Peyton could have a huge game.

So you think I should hedge my bets and go with Peyton? What I'm concerned about is Peyton getting hit and playing scared.

My TE situation is thin I have gronk and Fred Davis (WAS) was thinking of dropping him for Dustin Keller (NYJ)
pros: IMO Keller is a better player has had steady stats for last couple years
Cons: don't trust the people throwing the ball to Keller (coming from a jets fan), and Davis is rg3 security blanket

If you drafted Peyton that was obviously a risk you were willing to take.
Best case: Peyton goes off and the Steelers ST bails you out, while Ryan can't take the noise of Arrowhead and melts.
Medium case: Peyton doesn't play great but PITs D makes up for it.
Worst case: James Harrison rips Peyton's head off, his backup shreds the Steelers weak secondary, and Ryan had a career game.

In a league where you draft 2 TEs Dustin Keller is available?

With Peyton he was available in the 8th round so took a chance low risk high reward
It's a 1 TE league and my starter is gronk so I'm talking about injury insurance

Fred Davis is a heckuva insurance policy. I would venture to guess this is a very small league from the few things you've mentioned?

is that a joke? you have the second rated TE in the NFL with Gronk. Davis is gonna be a top 10 TE with RG3.

Eh. In an 8 team league there's no advice to be given.

I know how good Gronk is  i'm looking for insurance in case of injury.
not so sure about davis, I still look @ RG3 as a risk.

In an 8 team league where you have a top TE, i wouldnt even keep a TE2 on my roster. There will be plenty to choose from in case of injury and instead you can use that spot on a starting RB or WR who would benefit you much much more.

So, is there still no Fantasy football master thread? Should we start one?

I think you need to know the teams and players but not the rules. ..
I'm not who you think I am.
