It depends on your driving skills. I personally wouldn't trust some of my friends at the wheel while I'm a passenger.
It's pretty similar to the desert track on most computer driving games:P

Thanks for all your replies, I'm about to hit that road for the second time this week.

the 6 is usually faster and easier

Defiantly not so

What about the route from Jerusalem to the Dead Sea? I think its the 1 to the 90. Is is safe to travel alone? at night?

Ive never worried about that side of the highway as it's not populated and feels perfectly safe, my Q was only about driving to the Gallilee area.

at night?

Never. It's dark and a lot of dangerous curves, wouldn't risk it

absolutely not

Defiantly not so

Im not sure what you guys disagree with me about, but ill rephrase

in my numerous experiences, (ive driven each way around 15 times each), the 6 is a much faster ride, usually shaving 30 minutes off the journey (and since its a 2 lane for some time, if there are many pple going, such as on lag beomer, the 90 is a nightmare), AND the 6 makes for a much more pleasant driving experience especially if you drive with speed since the 6 is for the most part straight while the 90 is very curvy.

therefore, IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT, in my opinion due to experience, the 6 is a no brainer.

if you cannot afford it or looking to save money at the expense of comfort and time, the 90 is also an option and one shouldnt refrain from taking it due to security concerns

(i believe, and i might be wrong, that if the 6 was free, nobody would ever recommend taking the 90)

if you dont believe me aout the time saved, maybe you will believe google

therefore,
Does it depend where you're going?
Meaning, if you're going to tiberias from jerusalem, would you still take the 6?
Also, how much are the tolls RT on the 6? For me, that's also a role in my decision.

Ein mavieim raeya meha google.
I dont see how the 6 can be faster then the 90 to tevaria or eilat.
It takes 15/20 min just to get to the 6 and its out of the way. My avarge time on the 90 to tevaria is 2 hours and to eilat 3:15 and I dont really speed a lot.
I have a feeling that some ppl convince themselves that the 6 is faster just because there scared to take the 90.

you make me laugh, thanks for that

did you even read the comment you quoted? do i give off the impression that im scared of the 90?

also, from your comment its pretty clear you never took the 6 up north. in that case, how on earth can you comment on one being better than the other?

but like i said, thanks for the amusement

Ha you got me. I was kinda bored and wanted to spark a bit of a fight :-)
But siriously how can the 6 be faster to tevaria if it takes 20 min just to get to the 6? Are u telling me it only takes 1:30 from there?
Also my time from meiron to j-lm on lag beomer was 2:30 on the 90 so the 6 is not worth the money imho.

I took the 6 once, the last time I went, and I was shocked how fast, smooth, and pleasant it was. Not sure I can ever take the 90 again. And I very much enjoyed the 90
