Any recommendations my phone got soaked and now SIM card not getting recognized. Is that a issue with the phone or good chance that just the SIM card?

How long ago did it get soaked?

If it wasn’t too long ago, power off ASAP, remove the battery (if possible) and put it in a airtight sealed container (e.g. Tupperware) with filled with raw rice for 48 hours. Then try again.

Water damage in a phone in the immediate term can cause electrical contacts to short circuit causing things to act wonky. Trapped water can cause corrosion and permanent/irreparable damage. The rice solution I posted above (worked successfully for me more than once, even for a phone that wouldn’t power on) should address both issues. Rice naturally absorbs water/humidity and will draw it out of the phone when it’s in an airtight container.

Three hours isn’t too long. 48 hours (maybe 72) is recommended (you can Google it, wet phone rice), but 24-48 should do the trick IME.

It’s not guaranteed, but it could save your phone and is worth a shot.

Key points are:
  • Leave the phone off
  • Let it sit in the rice
I remember taking a Canon ELPH100 (IINM), probably 2 months after it fell in the toilet. I left it in rice (a Ziplock bag worked fine), and it lasted another year! I believe it was that same camera that had the famous lens stuck error, I took apart the entire camera piece by piece  ;D

Indeed. That was an annoying issue. I actually still have mine (about 13 years later). I can't remember the last time I used a point and shoot, though.
