Some of the big message boards have IRC chat room channels associated with them for that very reason. However, this really only works if there are enough people logged in 24/7 to really answer and chat with you. You'll usually get more helpful answers in the forum because people can check later and see what you wrote and comment on it, whereas the chat is only visible to those who happen to be online that moment, and you never know who that might be.

I don't think dansdeals is ready for a real time chat yet.

I think you should make a thread rating. To rate a specific thread based on how good the info is. for example someone posts a good deal, people can rate it and it should stay at the top of the treads for a while. Just my 2 cents.

If I am not mistaken, dansdeals.com has something like or had something like that.

Cheers.

Hi Everyone!
Hi Everyone!

I see this time around were getting a bit more action around here, way to go!

Dan's gonna put a link on the main page once the forum really gets going. We need the active DansDeals members to post as much as possible!

I think it needs to be up now in order to make this a success. These sites need to really be very well integrated into one big super site.

I agree, we need to add a few more sections in here.

I also think there needs to be a very obvious link on the main page of dansdeals in order for this thing to realy take off.

The idea is to first work out the kinks like is being done in this thread.

And I'm always open to board topic suggestions.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Hi folks.  This forum is a great thing to have.  How about making a Torah or Judaism category?

I have another idea, to get more people to go to the forum. Take most of dansdeals credit card posts that are very informational and sticky them in the credit card section under different CC companys, e.g. Citi Chase Amex etc. So whoever wants to know some info about a specific card could just find it right there in that section. plus it'll have a sub-forum within that section for people to post other sorts of info.

What do you think.

Click "Profile" on the top, then on the side "Account Related Settings".

I think that's an excellent idea. Topics should be started with all the main advice that's been available on DansDeals for a while, and then we can comment on the advice.

I really think that this forum can take off. People just need a reason to come to the forum, if you do as I suggested, a lot more people that are looking for info will come this forum! I personally love forums and cant stand it when they die down.

Great idea! also some of the info in the dansdeals knowledge base needs updating as times change. If we can post them here and then comment on them it will keep it current and build the forum.

I'm just gonna ask you guys one favor. It's no big deal if you are posting good stuff like recommendations or answers to people's questions in order to boost your posts, but please don't clog the forums with stupid things like "Great idea" or "Thanks" or similar posts that are meaningless. You know what I'm saying and you know why I'm saying it.

A lot of forums will delete your post if you do like one word posts. There was this one forum that if you wrote like one word, it wouldn't let you post. kinda funny actually. but I understand what your saying Eli.
