The point is, if we had a holiday involving pumpkins, there would without a doubt be a million and one specifications relating to the pumpkin.

Reminds me of the joke about the Jewish kid who visits the house of his Christian friend during holiday season and asks about the tree. Once told that it was in honor of the holiday, he asks the natural follow-ups: How tall does it have to be? How many ornaments should it have? How bright do the lights have to be? Etc etc
