Discover just added two new benefits to the "more" card.

Purchase protection - can cover your purchase if it's damaged or stolen within 90 days.
Extended product warranty - can add up to an additional year of coverage to your existing warranty.

If anybody takes advantage of these benefits, please post how easy/hard they are with claims.

Had these bennies on a different Discover card, claims were processed by a 3rd party IIRC, and they had no interest in resolving my concern. Claim ended up getting declined.

All those out there , discover doesn't have sign up offers , but all of u seem very familiar with its benefits etc .
No need to give them credit ( Punn intended ) but they are great on spending categories .
As well as thei cusromer service is really outstanding !
As well as their cards don't have a foreign transaction fee . ( which kick cr@p 1)
Between ally chase cards (8 of them ) and 2 amex I have a discover card as well and use it

They have some great offers at times through their shopping mall. They also offer GC's at 50% off at different times when redeemimg your cash back.

Regular GCs from normal merchants? (not some weird discount disguised as a GC)

Not something many will be interested in but Shop.nhl.com is 50% off right now. Last year they had Shell GC's @ 50% off. These pop up ever now and then.

Places like BBB, Staples, PepBoys, Gap, LandsEnds (Sears/Kmart) @ 20% off.
Hyatt 100 for 40.

Awhile back they had Shell gift cards for (I believe) 50% off as a promotion. That was easily the best redemption I've heard of for Discover cashback. Otherwise, I think Staples cards for 20% off are the best standard redemption (if you know how to liquidate them efficiently).
