I was in Brooklyn on the way to Yeshiva and saw all the smoke and papers falling... Heard / saw tons of emergency vehicles rushing.
Found out a few minutes later what happened, so I went to the roof of Derech Chaim and saw the tower(s) smoking away, I turned to a friend and said "you wanna go there"? so we went to the F train and got the last one into Manhattan before they shut down the subway system. On the way though there is one area where everyone in the train was able to see the towers, and everyone was wondering what happened so I said a plan hit the towers and the train just got deadly silent.
After we got into Manhattan they announced the subway was being evacuated due to an on going emergency.
So we walked towards ground zero, it was after the 1st tower fell as we were dodging ppl that were pull of white soot. We got pretty close when we finally decided its probably a stupid idea to try to get closer, we eventually walked back to Brooklyn over the Brooklyn or Manhattan Bridge (I don't remember which one it was).
