before sukkos they check every religious person coming in, if you have more than one they could give you problems because people try to bring in hundreds to sell.

just flew with 6 esrogim, 9 hadassim and 1 lulav, no issues whatsoever

lulav was wrapped with a posul lulav extending a bit to protect the tip

Surprised no one mentions it.

Used to be (maybe still is)that you had to get a sticker sealing the esrog and with a notice of the ministry of agriculture that there are no diseases in the fruit, when entering the usa (and probably a bunch of other countries).

Saw once a chusid in a bulheadseat (the type that doesn't talk or look at ladies) which had between his legs his lulav in an upright position in those soft seethrough pouches, and the stewardess said:Let me put this away for you, and she toke it from him, but when he grabbed it, and pulled his way, they kept pulling until it made crack...

I flew NYC- SJU for sukkos on my return flight in SJU I had my לולב confiscated, albeit it wasn't too bad because it was הושענה רבה.

I've flown many times domestic,always placed in hard plastic case so it shouldn't get bent,carried it with me onto plane and placed in overhead,no problems:)

of course you need it to seal the boxes. (doesnt work for lax though)
the lulav came with a paper declaring it insect free

the hadassim however had nothing

My worst experience was in Cun I had my Esrog confiscated, but the lulav went through with no problem. I begged them to let me take it to no avail.

no issues with the TSA, when i got onto the plane i asked the flight attendants to put it away in the front, they asked me what it was and when i told them what it was they were trying to figure out why in the world i was carrying a palm branch with me..

pretty much the same story here except i was on AA and SGF was on Delta. as well, both flights were domestic. just points to bear in mind.

Boarding flight from ord -> Lga, at least 3 other people were carrying their lulavim. Seems like airport security has been briefed and everyone got through with no hassle.

I just took a Lulav (checked Esrog) on the Cathay JFK-YVR-JFK with no issues at metal detectors or customs. Cathay stored it in the first class cabin for me.

Thanks for everybody's input. I brought my lulav on to the plane in a hard case. I had it taped so that the tip would not slide into the end of the case. It was a domestic flight on Delta. The TSA and airline personnel did not say anything. The only other thing I carried on with me was a laptop bag, but no full size carry-on, so I was not really testing the maximum they would tolerate.

My family traveled last succos on a delta domestic flight and we brought our luluv with us as a carry on and had no issues with TSA or airline.

The guy I bought my lulav from last year (in CH) gave me a"flying case" it was hard plastic and kept the tip clear and safe.

Probably, like most countries, get a sticker in Israel

Flew this morning with a Lulav. Stewardess offered to put it in the front closet since it wouldn't fit in overhead bin.

Flew last year with one as well and no issues.
