using a credit card before receiving it

I just signed up for the starwoods card (thanks to all the favorable posts about it). It says it'll take 7-10 days to arrive but it has been approved. Anyone know if theres anyway to get the card info and use it before then. I have a big purchase to make and I'd love to get the points. I called customer service and they told me there policy is not to give out the info. Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Thanks

Call them back and ask for them to overnight you the card.

 thats about the only way I know of

 you could also ask them your Credit limit if they say they cant tell you, then ask tell them you need to be making a purchase of $xx,xxx will my Limit cover that amount.
