iPhone 5 in Isreal

I just got the iphone5. When I called Verizon to unlock it they said no problem but I will have to use their sim card because with the new iPhone 5 since it's built in (and that will cost me $1.99 a min etc.) to The phone as oppose to the 4s. Is that true?? To me it seems like their is the same sim slot on the 5 as the 4s. I want to use it in isreal over succos. Anybody?

Yes the sim card is a different size but if you can get one that fits or cut one down to size it should be able to take any companies sim.

Cut it.  I did.  I cut it a drop to small so i ordered a new one. But google it and follow the instuctions

I'm nervous to cut my sim from Golan because of that reason. I don't know how easy it would be to get a replacement.

if you walk into a cell phone store..it shouldnt take them more than 10 seconds to do it for you...with a little cajoling im sure theyll do you the favor...go to a heimish store

If they had the SIM...they would give it.  As of last week they didn't.
