I recently opened a Chase United Explorer (Business) Card. I want to book the "Cardmembers Save" awards on United, but it seems that I need to add my card to the wallet first. Is there any way to book these tickets before I get my physical card in the mail?

P2 is new to the miles/points game. She just got the UA Explorer card but hasn't triggered the SUB yet so she doesn't have any UA miles yet. If I book UA Award tickets for the 2 of us out of my UA account, and use her Explorer card to pay for the taxes/fees, will that trigger the free checked bags benefit?

Sure. But also, she’s within 90 days apparently, so card may not be needed. Depending on flight date.

Our flights will indeed occur within 90 days of her account opening date. Do you know if that 90 day waiver occurs automatically in the system...or should I expect that i'll need to argue with UA staff at check-in?

United moved one of my family's flights 90 minutes which ruins our schedule. They insist I cant cancel bc it's less than 2 hours and I can only get credit that can be used for named passengers. I don't want credit that can only be used for my kids....

Do you have any suggestions?

Most of the action happens 72 hours within and even more the day of, few hours before and at the gate. Not common randomly before that, ~as common as saver opening up.
