Real. Sounds like married segment logic to me.

booked a ticket on AC, for united metal, just noticed that my reservation was cancelled. There was zero warning. (everything should be kosher, it was in my name both accounts). I had a res booked on my wifes account holding a reward in united miles but it was without my mileage info, and i never got the usual warning email that two overlapping reservations will be cancelled. just noticed now that it does not exist. It happens to be united is showing the rates that should make it available on AC but its not coming up. Any idea what to do? travel is sunday

Is there any rhyme/reason as to which united saver award flights are available on lifemiles or aircanada? Or is it just whatever they decide? United can have 5 “saver award” flights available but only 1 or 2 or sometimes none at all will show up on LM/AC..

They will auto cancel them.
Unless you change your name spelling in one of them. (In a way that they will let you fly with the incorrect spelling)
Anyone know if changing the DoB is enough?

I would suggest changing it to middle initial.
Frequent flyers/TA's: Please chim in this can be an issue by boarding or TSA.

Middle name is never needed. So no need to add middle initial. But leaving it out would still flag as duplicate.

I've change to middle initial and different DoB and it didn't flag as duplicate.
I don't know which thing helped.

If I book a united flight in economy using chase or citi points, can I then transfer chase points to united miles and use those miles to upgrade to premium econ or business? thanks!

Yes, but most upgrades are waitlisted not confirmed on the spot.
