I booked a United round trip flight via LifeMiles. I may need a later flight on way back so I booked another flight later on via United Mileage Plus. United sent an email that I have two flights same day so will need to cancel. Any way around this?

I booked a United flight through the Chase travel portal. I then had to cancel and they gave me a FFC. Issue is I don't need it and so asked them if they can switch to ETC (so I can gift or sell). They responded that since it was booked with third party travel agency it's not possible to turn it into a UTC. Anyone have any tips?
