Sorry if this has been asked before, but couldn’t find the answer. If I have the explorer card, do I get free bags if I book with chase UR points for part of the ticket and part with the card?

Officially, to use the free checked baggage you must pay with the Explorer card. When you book through Chase travel, you will get charged from Chase Travel and they will use their own corporate card to pay United, so you will not get free checked baggage. You may be able to get the fee waived at check-in if you show them the card and explain the situation, but don't count on it.

Thanks. That's what I was afraid if. They're really been devaluing their card and program, and now on tickets that I want to get they're charging 2x for regular economy vs. basic.

I put a united ticket on a 3 day hold, business class ewr-tlv, and when i click to complete reservation the fare class shows "Fare Class: Coach (JN) " What does that mean?
