I booked a flight to Puerto Rico using a combination of a travel voucher (received when volunteering to be bumped) and United quest credit card. Today I noticed that the flight is about $200 cheaper. Is there a way to safely rebook for the lower rate? I tried changing the flight to the existing flight, but it won't let me. Would I be safe changing the flight to another flight and then changing it right back? I just want to make sure I don't actually lose my current flight.

Someone posted trying to change the origin city to include or exclude sister airports, e.g. from EWR to NYC and vice versa. Then the flight that you are already on should show up. IIRC, it used to always show up, but they made it harder to change and save money.

@aishel I just had a similar situation with one of my flights, and it did work in the app and not on the desktop website. Switch to all area airports or vice versa and you will be able to select your flight and get a refund for the extra miles paid. United, please do not "fix" this.

United: United let me change my flight to any city in Europe for free, not just to the 3 airports listed on DDMS.

Had to get through to a supervisor though to get it done.
