best reward card for 30k monthly spending??

Huh? Any spend on Freedom earns 1.1 UR+10.  Even just the 1.1 without the 10 is more than 2% these days.

1.1 using the typical selling price of 1.8 is 1.98, and if these are large transactions, the 10 UR points are a wash. And I'd rather receive regular cash back instead of going through the selling process to receive the same amount of money, and to increase my risk of an A/A.

Although, thanks for reminding me to get the Exclusives already. I may as well move my 'spending' to the Freedom rather than the SP which is 1.07.

+1, the Freedom 10% posts each month (don't have to wait until the end of the year), and the Freedom also gives you 10 points per purchase (1k points for every 100 purchases).

OTOH the SP offers better "protections".

I understood. Just saying it's SP is purportedly > Freedom. In reality, both are sub-par (and neither come close to AmEx).

SP- Sapphire Preferred card from Chase.

And I'd rather have Ultimate Reward points any day.

Then you're golden! Go through the UR mall to make the purchases, and you will receive up to another 5 points for every dollar. That's significant accumulation. You can also go through other portals, but they must remain nameless due to DDF regs.

UR mall = Ultimate Reward Mall. You access it though the Chase website when you have a Sapphire, Freedom, or Ink card.

You order it online, and then pick it up in the store.
Or you can buy HD gift cards, hope the points post, and then use it in store.

@Banana, to make it simple, just apply for the Chase ink bold card, and after accumuling a nice amount of points transfer it to united airlines (or come back here & we'll guide you further)

Then just order online, and pick up in store. They also have moving coupons and stuff to save up to another 10%.
And then some cards have 5% cb on rotating categories that might include this. For example, in q2, the Citi Dividend card had 5% for HD. (although there may have been a max)

What about the amex biz plum card? 1.5%  (2%for6mo) cash back if you pay off before statement closes.
