I think it's unlikely that interest rates will go up before the elections. That should keep the markets relatively stable until then. The volatility now seems to be jitters, combined with energy stocks taking a hit (which is traditional for this time of year) and having a disproportionate effect on the market.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

I agree, and todays news of manufacturing output amd retail sales dropping reaffirms that they wont raise rates. I believe that is having the biggest affect on todays rally. Which brought me to my above statement.

Stability breeds volatility. The longer things go well, the more sensitive they are to disruptions. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minsky_moment

The market seems to have significant fundamental problems, yet it keeps on going up. The low and negative interest rates are distorting so many things, and many market decisions are being made differently than they have been historically been made.

There are quite a few global friction points and events than can cause a Minsky moment with long-term effects.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

3x ETFs are not meant to be held as a position (especially over Yomtov where you have two market days that you can't be active in).

3x ETFs should be used ONLY for trading or hedging a portfolio (so for example if your overall portfolio was short gold, a JNUG position equal to about a tenth of the short gold position might be appropriate).

I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!
