Ok so I should short for short term and buy long term?
Although I think — and all indicators show — that it’s going lower in the short term, I would never short the stock (or any stock) especially at these levels, but would definitely buy for the long term here, and average down.
One of the most important rules of trading is to never average down, averaging down means you were wrong in the first place, and your first loss is always your smallest loss.

That's not a correct statement. Assuming your number is correct, then if you invested $1,000 in 2000, you would have seen $1,670 in returns, and your principal would be worth $1,000.
