Not the same. Their at least the valuation is based on a realistic potential market share, this is totally out of wack ( they are trading at 330 p/e after they have been selling cars for about 8 years).
I due like the company but......
Because it's growing so fast, more realistic look at P/E would be Q3 x4, that cuts the P/E ratio roughly in half. It's completely reasonable to expect earnings to double in the next year, probably even more than double which cuts your P/E ratio in half again. That brings you to a forward looking PE ratio of about 80, I think that's under-priced for such a fast growing company with such strong financials.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

growing to be what? More profitable then all those car companies combined ?

I would also need to minus 30% off p/e  because the selling clean credits business will go away soon. And I would need to factor in the computer shortage which is temporarily inflating profit margins for all automaker’s.....

Was eyeing BBBY for a while already, dropped considerably more than others due to fear of supply chain issues. Would probably be a good idea to buy more on the dip.

Or supply chain issues will cripple their best quarter and sales will plummet. Alternatively, profits could plummet if they have to sell whatever inventory they can get their hands on at thinner margins than they'd hoped for.

Could be, but usually this is all factored in already in the current major drop, like it's so common with the stock market. The fear of negative developments is so often more detrimental than when it actually happens. Same goes for positive, hence "Buy on the rumor sell on the news".

just buy some TSLA and go to sleep....

I feel like deja vu all over again. Last time it moved at these levels it hit 3500 and then split. Is there any end in sight? Huge moves on absolutely no news....

No. Its already at a market cap >$1 trillion. Not going to 3.5T that easily

Margins are way higher than any other automaker, and they will continue rising as they increase efficiency. There's also the energy business which has the potential to be as big as the car business, but it's still comparatively tiny.

Regulatory credits are only 13% of Q3 income, and while they helped Tesla survive they are not very important at this point.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

I hope some smart person just bought an options spread on TSLA that expires in a year and half.  I think it's still going to move extreme either way.  This move was way to drastic. I think this stock will stay extremely volatile

Lol.

If we're doing serious analysis here, then I'll observe that TSLA share prices must always go up. Otherwise, Elon Musk will have to get angry and tell us he's taking the company private, followed by pretending to be punished by the SEC and not being CEO

CHGG. Trying to figure out the play there...Seems like long calls should payout, and their pretty affordable right now.
