Why would anyone in my family ever need an Uber once we have proper self driving?
Do a little research. The self driving company's are already partnering with Uber! They have the best system already in place and it'll be easier to onboard customers

You use uber because you don't want to drive?
Some don't have a car, or use it for convenience with transportation,  areas with no parking, airport where you don't want to park.

And uber eats...

Instead of my kids using an Uber you send the car to go there by itself. I didn't need to park it where I am I can send it a mile away where there is parking and call it when I am ready.

There won't be a need a for car ownership in urban areas.

How and why would that be different than it is now with taxis driven by people?

That's true there is such a theory.

They even say that every house will be self driving, or at least one room of the house, or garage etc, and at night you go to sleep and you program it where you want to go and in the morning you wake up and you are there. Example NYC to Miami.
It's the same concept, once everything is self driving the lanes will be narrower, and will be more lanes, and drive quicker. Etc.
The list is endless where they are heading with the self driving.

Back to square one what are your predictions for the stock?   ;)

Posting re the motley fool discussion earlier.

In December of 21 they reccomnded a stock.

Today alone it is up 32%.

It is up 152% over the past year.

Yet if you bought it when they recomended it you still would have lost (as I did on that trade) 40%.

Thankfully I have made a decent return on that stock, but in spite of them, not because of them. I very nearly sold out when it tanked soon after they recommended it, and had I done so would not have bought the resulting dip. I would have lost a lot of money for blindly following to someone else.

How are they doing overall except this stock?

Btw to me it looks like every person can become a writter/analyst on Motley Fool. Does that make sense?

Not sure about the first part, but they definitely have contradicting opinions. Which I think is good. Just maybe confusing for some. You need to look which department publishes it, I believe the ones written by their stock advisor department are in line with the recommendation.

I'm genuinely curious, are you looking to make a quick buck as a day trader or are you looking for long term returns on investments? All your comments seem to be pointing at throwing money chasing the news in very short term) as myself and I'm sure every other investor who has been in the markets for some time will tell you IT DOESN'T WORK. If I'm wrong about my assumption or you are just looking to have fun, please let us know.
PS I'm not posting this as anything against you, most newbies start off with your attitude. Rather I'm posting it as a PSA (that I have no gain from other than helping others learn from my mistakes)
