No.

Not random I'm sure then. Definately no Apple, Alphabet, Tesla, probably nothing above $15 or so.

In good Jewish Education and other worthy causes.

And you really think you will get meaningful ideas or advice on that from anonymous posters on an online forum (especially one where often penny stocks are touted)?

I guarantee you that you cannot go wrong by giving money to Jewish Education.

It is random and you don't get a full stock you only get a share of a stock.

AMZN embodies the entire BABA model and then some. Their cloud business itself is a huge growth potential. So if you see growth potential in BABA (which I understand, but am super skeptical, I mean it's China after all, Mr. Ma could just disappear one day!) I'd rather buy AMZN at this recent 10% dip even with its ridiculous P/E ratio which is a non factor at the rate Bezos is reinvesting.

In the long run Warren Buffet is dead.

I don't know anything, but while in the very long run, you might be right, a timeframe needs to be defined, and other than the very long run (as in 40 years or more) valuations do matter.

look at the way Alibaba is growing and their profits vs Amazon look at their profits and their cash flow/ competition from Walmart etc. in my opinion Amazon is a gamble it could get to 2k and it could get to 500

AMZN isn't just an online retailer.
AMZN is a tech giant.
AMZN is directly competing with Netflix in a big way while also competing (and winning, by far) with Microsoft/IBM/Google in cloud computing. BABA and Walmart aren't tech companies, let alone tech giants.

I agree with you on what AMZN is (or isn't) but have no current opinion on the value of the stock.

While there's no argument that Walmart is a retailer, BABA is definitely a 21st century company. I have no opinions on the value of either of those too.

Regarding AMZN, the scariest part for me is that it is part of the FAANGs, any one of those five companies has added risks (and advantages when the going is good) compared to the rest of the market.

BABA (and Walmart to a certain degree) are 21st century online retailers while AMZN is a 21st century tech giant.

Agreed that they have added risk.
But don't forget there's a reason they're FAANG. They're the future.

Where do you get the idea that BABA is an online retailer? IINM their roots are actually in B2B (and I've found suppliers in China after finding them on alibaba.com - through Google search  :)).

AMZN is definitely a major disrupter, but there's a huge problem when 5 companies represent such a huge percentage of the overall stock market valuation.

Remember, a stock is a claim on the future earnings of a company. How much is it reasonable to pay for a year's earnings? How about if we know (do we have נבואה?) that those earnings will grow at a certain clip? I claim ignorance, I don't know what will happen, but please don't tell me that buying at crazy valuations isn't speculation. AAPL on the other hand, actually pays a dividend (I got some AAPL shares at much lower prices) is sitting on LOTS of cash, and is GENERATING lots of cash. What does the future hold? I don't know. I admire AAPL for the quality of their products, and hate their products (and the move to touchscreens that was started by them).

A lot of people believe its because Jobs was a Koumpounophobiac. Its a real thing, I have a kid who is one.
I'm an optimist; but only because life isn't going to give me any other good choices.
