Thanks, worth keeping an eye, on the stock too. I am not experienced with bonds ,please update if you think they are a buy. I added the stock to my quotes screen.

When environmental catastrophes happen, coupled with loss of human life, the stock is pure speculation in my book, as I can see scenarios where the government will put the company out of business for political reasons (which is why I didn't touch BP stock during the Deepwater Horizon debacle). But since there's real underlying value, I think that bonds are relatively safe bets. Might not make outsized returns that one might see with the stock, but not-so-shabby returns are definitely in the cards (as they were for BP bonds back then).

FTR, I do have a small long position  (after I sold most of my position quite a while ago) in VALE which is significantly up from my entry point.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

I am trying to look at VALE bonds. The stock is taking a serious beating since Friday, and is still extremely risky IMHO. If the bonds get equally punished, I think they might be attractive, as I believe there's enough value there to be protected, even in a worst case scenario (think PCG - and I still view that as risky even with the latest news https://www.cnbc.com/2019/01/28/pge-shares-rise-15percent-following-report-of-4-billion-plan-to-avert-bankruptcy-stock-halted.html).
Is this a case of speculators selling the rumor and buying on the news. ECG up after filing for bankruptcy. VALE up today after news that criminal charges might be pursued, including looking into the 2015 disaster.

Those two stocks are for speculators only IMHO.

Thoughts on KHC as a long term value play?
It looks like a text book Buffett stock at this price (and not just because he invested in it).
This one hurts.

Wonder if he’s buying the dip, he kinda warned that this might happen, he reluctantly admitted a few months ago that food brand loyalty isn’t what it once was.

Buffet was too early, 8 months later and KHC is at $56 with a most recent low of $53. Needs to trade above 65 to end downtrend.

Was talking about myself. I was follwoing khc before that post and bought in at $56, my mistake was not having a stop loss  and now its down nearly 40%.

Stop loss is a must, even the best traders or investors are wrong a few times, and without cutting the losses fast , one or 2 bad trades can cause big losses. But most of us do not want to take a loss , it means we have to admit we were wrong, and instead wait for a rebound or double up on the way down.

I have accounts with 4 different brokerages. Are there any apps or websites where I can log in and see all my holdings in one central place? I don't just want totals(I can see that on Mint) I want detailed info...

Some of the brokerages will let you do that (IINM Schwab being one of them, though it won't be real time, rather as of last close).

Personal capital allows it... its a free site that links all your accounts and each holdings.

One you set up an account they will call you from a san jose/san Francisco number trying to sell you on added features....

Thanks. I just tried this with Schwab. The issue is that it doesn't import all the data. e.g. Schwab doesn't import my cost basis so I can't see gains or losses. It only imports the amount of shares so I can see how much my G&L's for that stock for that day but not since I bought...

I don't think there's a free site that will import cost basis.

eMoneyAdvisors aggregation could be updated with cost basis, but I believe it needs to be done manually.

The only risk still out there is that this temporary ban will turn into a permanent ban, which is a very small risk, which is probably why the stock is unchanged on the news today.

It’s not even close to 52 wk low and it’s quite expensive. But probably not a bad investment.

Update. When I imported Robinhood to Schwab it didn't import cost basis but when I imported e*trade it did.
