Alright, whose the guy that bought stock in purell and then proceeded to buy up all the purell?
GOJO is not publicly traded. But I do know people making a fortune off purell sales.
I'm not who you think I am.

Bought in Jan 2018, total return now of over 85%.

I bought two lots. The smaller one is more than double. The other lot is at a loss. Overall I'm close to break even.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

my personal rule is i wait for a two day reversal before buying a dip. As the virus spreads, the greater the economic impact, so not sure how anyone feels comfortable buying in until we see the end of the tunnel.

Exactly. I was pointing out that it’s not good to be too greedy, at some of today’s gains seem to be slipping.

Nope. But he does watch his show, so maybe that’s where it’s from.

Look at where the treasuries and gold are. That's a fast and furious move. Didn't expect the 30yr bond to go below 1% so fast.

Does it make sense to buy some of the big oil companies (CVX and XOM) and buy and hold and let the div yield keep things nice and comfy while waiting for the price to rise?

The drop in oil is, at least partially, connected to factors other that COVID-19. They can last quite some time.

The big sellers aren’t done selling, they can’t sell all they wanna sell in one day, especially considering the sudden and scale nature of this news, you don’t wanna get caught in the middle of it

"The market triggered a ‘circuit breaker’ that kept stocks from falling through the floor"

Err... what does that mean in layman's terms?

They suspended trading for 15 minutes to ensure that the frenzied sell-off was paused for a moment and people could regain their composure

It's a pre-configured circuit breaker for when the market drops.

The rules, which apply to regular trading hours only, are as follows:

Level 1: If the S&P 500 drops 7%, trading will pause for 15 minutes.
Level 2: If the S&P 500 declines 13%, trading will again pause for 15 minutes if the drop occurs on or before 3:25 p.m. ET. There will be no halt if the drop happens after that. (This would occur Monday if the S&P falls 386 points).
Level 3: If the S&P 500 falls 20%, trading would halt for the remainder of the day. (This would occur if the S&P falls 594 points).
