can someone post the full article?

In a nutshell:
The $5 to $10 you'd "save" on commissions by not going with other brokers, you'd lose when executing a Robinhood trade because your order would execute at .01-.02 higher than they would on a faster platform. Obviously the bigger the order the bigger the loss, and the more you'd save by going with a reputable broker.

Wouldnt that work in both ways though? Sometimes a sale will execute at a lower price, no?

not true ..its order of execution. if their is buying pressure the normal trading accounts will execute and then RH at a higher price. if the market feels sell pressure RH will pay first clearing out the higher bids and then other traders will get it cheaper...

I have a bunch of friends who felt good about themselves for not just installing Robin hood rather making a TD acct like "real investors "
RH is a real investment account.

If you have less than 25k, you're bound by the day trading rules. BE CAREFUL if this applies to you.

How many Hoodies are entering market orders? How many use (trailing) stop-loss.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

That doesn't fix the issue- if you put in a limit buy order for $1 on TD/Schwab/Fidelity it can fill at .98 or .99 if market conditions allow, while on RH it'll fill at $1...

If your balance is over 25k? There is no limit.

1. it has to be a margin account
2. 25K must be cleared at the beginning of trading day. trades usually take 2 days to clear

What happens to that extra money .01-.02 ? Robinhood pockets it ?

I can't see how this doesn't end up in tears.

This sounds so reminiscent of the dot com bubble, when day trading was how everyone planned on quitting their jobs. Only difference is that now they are forced to stay home, so they pick up this activity.

And it's not only on Robinhood.

Notice the second to last item on that list. That is a highly toxic product and should not be touched by amateurs.
