Am I getting carried away or is there a possibility Moderna will become the next Tesla? I don't think Covid vaccinations will be a major business overtime as there are so many different options and it's likely to get eradicated, but can this be a turning point bringing medicine into the 21st century?

Until now medicine used known chemical compounds and discovered their effects on the human body. My understanding is that mRNA is the first medicine that is manmade, opening a possibility of modifying it to fight every illness. Moderna has been on the brink of discovering many other possibilities with their tech, and the Covid profits and investment surge may just get them over the brink.

If this happens, Covid will be remembered as one of the greatest events to humanity...

mRNA vaccines are not a new concept. It's just new that they got them stable enough to be usable. Many companies have been working on mRNA vaccines for a while. Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine is also mRNA, and they're as established a pharmaceutical corporation as it gets.

New as in first time in real world use. I know Moderna was founded a long time ago

From an investing standpoint, it doesn't appear that Moderna has anything proprietary or any competitive edge related to mRNA technology over the other big fish in the pond. I don't see why they would be the industry leaders in this field more so than Pfizer, which is incredibly established and has an equally viable mRNA candidate pending approval.

Equally viable is a bit of a stretch, the Pfizer vaccine comes with an inferior fat coating that creates a huge logistical tax.

My point isn't about Covid, it's about the broader pipeline. Pfizer isn't actually the developer of this vaccine anyways, they're just helping BioNTech execute.

https://biontech.de/science/pipeline they do seem to have a lot of potential applications as well, and while they seem to be a little bit behind the curve from Moderna, you have a valid point that Moderna doesn't have that much of a competitive advantage over BNTX.

Are there any other companies in this space?

Anyone here into long term investing?

What stocks should I consider buying now for the long haul?

Bought Tesla & Apple 8 years ago and haven't looked back.

I want the next Tesla and the next Elon Musk - something with real long term growth potential. It doesn't need to be popular. I'm happy buying an unpopular stock like with Tesla 8 years ago. I really want a company with a CEO like Musk, someone who's a proven visionary, and revolutionary larger than life personality, crazy unstopable ambitions, with a track record (like Musk had with Paypal). A company with potential for a large addressable market etc..

Any recommendations?

TIA!

Bill Ackman’s SPAC  $PSTH
There are rumors there might be some sort of tie up with stripe.
If that happens then PSTH will rocket!

They make it too easy for newbie investors/traders to blow all their money.

What are the cons of Robinhood?
For light occasional trading they are fine. For more serious trading, they lack in good tools, they often crash or are slow to execute orders.
There is very little reporting available

What are the cons of Robinhood?
1) Officially they don’t have the same access as other major brokerages. You’ll get a worse price when buying or selling.

2) They don’t offer mutal funds.

3) margin rates are higher then others.

What do you all think of this article?

I think its a bubble but that doesnt mean you should not buy it.
