Before I throw my lifes savings into BABA can someone tell me what I'm missing? They are sitting on over 400bil in cash minus debt it's still over 300 billion which is greater than half their market cap.
Seems to me that BABA at current price should be a no brainier with very low risk and tremendous upside.

Imo there's a significant risk to them being based in a communist county.

And my point is that isn't that risk severely mitigated by the fact that they are sitting on a boat load of chash equal to over 50% of their valuation?

Where to start ? CCP seems to have changed strategy from single huge players to multiple smaller players and in China what XI wants is what happens. 2 it’s future trajectory very much does not matter on how much cash they have on hand. 3 ppl simply have a hard time believing numbers coming out of Chinese companies, see luckin coffee.

In any stock don’t aspire to be the one “seeing” what nobody else sees, aspire to pick up on investor trends before they become mainstream .

Chinese company that lives and dies at the whims of the Chinese government? The  Jack Ma disappearing act was a good reminder of that

No I meant a stock picking service. The last few days have lost a lot of money. I'm looking to see if anyone has a recommendation on a service that shows entries and exits for options and stocks that has a good winning record.

Jim Simons medallion fund.

Other than that, the best advice is to buy an index fund, or any company whose fundamentals and growth prospects seem promising, and not look at it on a day to day basis. If you don't ask questions and complain when things go up, don't complain when things go down. In the long run, you do better than trying to beat the market.

Read William O’Neil. Otherwise put a trailing stop loss on all orders on the percentage you are willing to stomach

Selling or buying? Buying I’d wait atleast until it catches support, there’s no telling how this will change the trajectory of the stock

CCXI - a drug company
Yesterday a preliminary FDA report about a drug came out that sounded to my doctor friend positive but cautious.  The market dropped the stock from over $45 to as low as $20.
Tomorrow the FDA will likely approve the drug and the stock will likely go back up.

Why the drop?
They must think the drug won't be approved.
But my doctor friend thinks the analysts are misreading the report.
