I somewhat agree with you meaning that he knows good and well his role in manipulating this, I'm not so sure he looked before he leaped though that is what makes him and many others so successful. He did see himself though with a declining stock and declining BTC dragging it down and made up some excuse to sell. That is my theory and it ultimately doesn't matter why he sold....  I still believe it was one of his dumber moves. Time will tell

He's specifically NOT selling now. He's just not accepting BTC as payment for Teslas. He sold some when it was high, and included those profits with the overall company profits, making the company look much better.

THIS I'll agree with, although there's a very fine line. As long as he doesn't benefit from the stock price fluctuations and only from the crypto (which is still unregulated), they'll have a very hard time pinning anything on him.

Don't feel bad, TSLA volatility is even greater than it was because 2%-3% of their assets are in BTC. As long as BTC doesn't go straight up you'll get more than one more opportunity to pick up TSLA sub-$600 (if you still want it knowing that)

Hey, it was a good call at a time that others may not have seen the correlation.

It's just sad that a company that has so much innovation and promise should have its value tied to an arbitrary currency....

CCXI - a drug company
Yesterday a preliminary FDA report about a drug came out that sounded to my doctor friend positive but cautious.  The market dropped the stock from over $45 to as low as $20.
Tomorrow the FDA will likely approve the drug and the stock will likely go back up.

Does he still think it's going to go back up.. it's below 10 now

He thinks their drug will be approved at the full FDA meeting.
If approved, the company stands to make money.
So the stock should rise in anticipation.

I believe the meeting is July 9th (7th?).

I wouldn't make my decision just based on reading on a website (or even a responsa) unless it is clear cut and accepted by all. This is a very specified topic in Halacha, and there are those who specialize in these things. Chilul Shabbos is only one of the issues. What if they issue bonds or notes and don't have a proper Heter Iska?

My guiding principle is ברכת ה' היא תעשיר, in order to have that ברכה I would like my investments to be clean of any חשש ריבית or other issurim. On a personal level, if I know it's a Jewish controlled company that engages in איסורי דאורייתא I will look elsewhere. There are plenty of fish in the ocean.
