lol they should compare Rivian and Lucid which I believe haven't even delivered 1 car yet

Not the same. Their at least the valuation is based on a realistic potential market share, this is totally out of wack ( they are trading at 330 p/e after they have been selling cars for about 8 years).
I due like the company but......

you think 80b valuation for a company who hasn't delivered 1 car is more realistic
than a company which has at least proven themselves to be able to mass produce a product and have positive margins on it?
I also believe that TSLA is overvalued currently but I'd way sooner put my money on them then any of the other brand new EV companies that have no clue how hard it is to succeed in the auto industry

Since someone brought up Shib, just want to share that overnight all the market cap calculators fixed a glitch that was hiding 50% of the circulating supply. Yesterday they were calculating market cap based on 394T tokens, and today its based on 590T tokens (which is correct). A price correction to adjust for that mistake would make sense.

Also, the dormant wallets that hold huge amounts of Shib (like the one in the earlier post with 70T) are a looming threat. At any moment they can be activated and flood the supply side.

Which is why this is meaningless (as is Elon Musk's paper net worth). At any point that one of the huge bag holders tries to realize any gains it is likely to create a waterfall that will bring valuations down to earth from the stratosphere.

How many different cryptos are there? I'm tempted to just buy $10 of each

According to coinmarketcap.com there are currently 13,284.

That is true but wasn't the point here. By underststing supply many people were misled about the relative scarcity, which is important in setting entry/exit points. Has nothing to do with liquidity stress- liquidity would be wiped out much lower than 300 trillion too

Can someone tell me if my assessment is correct.

RFL dropped from $31 to $6 after a disappointed drug test result. The stock as been worth between $22 and $63 this year. Would it not be worth speculating in it now, as people don't usually easily give up shares that were worth so much for so long, and it will probably rebound somewhat (even if it dips lower first)?

Remember, I'm new to this game, so don't all beat me at once.

I opened an e*trade account on June 28 and put in $72. It's not 4 months later - to the day - and my net account value just reached $144, double my investment.

The fact that people don't want to sell their stock won't drive up prices unless there's someone willing to pay. Their biggest clinical trial failed, so their R&D's value is much less compelling.
