I'm far from being a finance expert, but I think it makes sense that he wants to get around the catch-22 that practically every one of the richest people face:

They are worth billions of dollars, but mainly because of stocks they own. But if they want to liquidate, the stock price will drop considerably, so their actual value is much lower.

So Musk is seeking to sell with an 'explanation,' which he hopes will mitigate the price drop of his stocks when he begins to dump them.

Was always over inflated hype IMO (yes so is TSLA and others) and was overdue for this major tumble. it's a garbage company not having anything besides for those vaccines which I assume all the profits are already milked out as all the orders are already long in.

Chart wise you can prob see a small dead cat bounce but not much and hard to be timed so I would look elsewhere unless they get major news.

Congrats on getting in when you did!

wow it went from around a $7b market cap before the pandemic to now having a $125b market cap

Keep in mind it is a very new company (founded in 2010) and they currently only have 1 product although they are working on others.

my opinion is it will take at least 2 years for the world to have herd immunity and I wouldn't be surprised if they recommended yearly booster shots too, so they should have plenty of business for the foreseeable future.

My problem is that for a pharmaceutical company that is ~10 years old and currently only has 1 EUA product, to be valued at half the value of a company like Pfizer ($224b mkt cap) which has been around for 170 years (which also has a similar vaccine) just doesn't make sense.

$MRNA might continue rising but I wouldn't put my money into it, at this point the valuation doesn't make sense to me.

large new markets opening up usually helps out the stock price in the short term.
