I hope you bought puts before the close yesterday with those proceeds....

Generally people will only brag about 200% gains not so much about their losses

Let the record reflect that TSLA is between $900 and $910 per share.
let the record reflect that we’re at $792.
I still appreciate when people share their thoughts especially since now would make a bigger should I moment

Well let's be fair. Even as someone who was skeptical (on the record) of that prediction, I'm not sure its fair to judge when the entire market is doing a 2008 style correction. Let's revisit and see where this sits when there are some clear winners and losers

I think it is fair… tsla or any growth stock is not the place to park your money when you should be thinking of defensive position due to pe evaluations coming back to earth driven by inflationary pressures. I am not going to predict if/when nasdaq will turn but be aware it can still drop significantly before it reaches 2008 levels

The premise was about holding a stock for a month, so the prediction is definitely fair game to criticize.

Forget TWTR and NFLX. If you want to hold a stock for a month, buy TSLA and thank me later.
Let the record reflect that TSLA is between $900 and $910 per share.

It's not a month yet. It's not fair to jump to conclusions yet. The stock could be over $1000 at that point.

ETA: And anyone who bought NFLX is not doing much better. It's down about 18% since then.

if you’re down 18% in NFLX hood for you. I’m down over 50%. Good thing I’m only in for a few pesos and I’m not selling until I’m even or up.
So far I’d say it was a decent move to buy at 900, but better to have added a lot more into TSLA when it was at 700 this morning. (Without giving advice-just what I did)

The irony is that when you’re down 20% the instinct is to grab your money and run, I was just talking to some one about this today in practice, and in the long term that kind of attitude (for their situation)
will cost them REAL money!

I’m not saying you have to keep your money in and ride it out, but you do have to evaluate rationally.

Yup. I was discussing the psychology of it with a client of mine that called me today contemplating pulling out of their Whole Life insurance because they "can average 6% in an index fund". I explained the difference between a 6% average over a long term, with ups and downs and the various emotions that can dominate at various points.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

We are approximately 1% shy of the S&P going into bear market.

Any bets that we get there before the end of the week? Will buyers surface when we hit that level, and claim the market is 'oversold'?

Stay tuned.... This has been a wild ride.
