I didn't realize it was the posted price for Friday's extended hours. Doesn't let me sell now. I'll try again tomorrow maybe.

FWIW, I have 2 shares. Bought them at $82 a piece during afterhours on Thursday.

I don't think you'll be able to sell.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

But at least I'll be able to tell my grandchildren that I lost 42% of my stock portfolio in the 2023 market crash.  :D

Curious - why did you buy?

Curious - why did you buy?
I honestly bought without doing any research. I had sold all my stocks a few weeks ago and had the cash sitting in my Roth IRA account. (About $400, which I use to "play" in stocks.) I was waiting for the day when stocks would be down so that I can buy. On Thursday, I bought about five or six different options, all which dropped considerably over the previous day, but all that had been strong for a while before. (That's my game - I assume there is a better chance on a rebound when the stock was strong for a long time, instead of a stock that had a sudden rise and then drop.) On Friday (just checked, is was not Thursday), I saw that SIVB had dropped from almost $300 to $82, so I bought 2 shares.

Actually, from Thursday to Friday, I showed a gain of about $35, even though most of the stocks dropped further, one had a big bounce. My portfolio is also still showing a gain of SIVB, because the last posted price was $106, and I only paid $82, but that will correct as soon as it's released or closed.

Even though options give you the right to buy shares (or to sell shares), this time you will only be able to settle for cash (difference between strike price and last market price) no settling for shares

Question for pros:

If you had the following energy sector holdings in your taxable account as of today (unrealized gains listed, dividend paying shares, option purchased as hedge). Would you close out anything now?

Certainly not a pro but here’s my two cents: energy had a crazy run and usually performs badly in a down market, where we seem to be heading and so Id take the bird in hand

DVN put with current ATM strike price. So it's protected against any further declines.

EPD and ET are midstream dividend payers.

Thats good. But is it the best use of your money going forward?

IDK. It's obviously just a slice of a portfolio.

Was just reading that 75 drugs are scheduled for FDA review this year (e.g., SRPT has a drug in the pipeline for muscular dystrophy), does that mean we're going to be hearing more from ckmk47?

@ckmk47 any idea why CDTX is taking such a hit? I saw the missed earnings, but a 36% drop right around an FDA approval?
