You can never know for sure. But on certain routes you can keep on checking the inventory and predict if they will release award seats.

United has a flight 203 today (CLE-ORD) that passed the scheduled departure time, but is not going to take off for another hour or so, its delayed. I cant access the flight to see in expert mode how many empty seats there are available.
Cousin is #17 on standby, and wanted to get an idea.

Anyone can see how many empty seats there are?

check the flight status and look at the seat map. Should give you a decent idea.

dont know. She just told me that she got on a different flight. The next flight did look solidly packed, in expert mode.

why is there only availability on the morning flight for Saver Award/12500 miles?

It is an Air Canada flight, and AJK indicated above that with partners, it does not show the same as with United's own flight. But is there any letter that indicates that it is or is not available to United to sell at a Saver Award level?
STLK are all paid seats, if i am understanding Dan's post.

I have a RT ticket one way is W class and one way is H. When I check my reservation online I don't have the option of changing seats (and even not to take an economy comfort seat).

I called up United to try to upgraded miles+$ but I got confused answers from the reps, one rep told me that it's a bulk ticket etc. one rep told me that i am able.

Are these classes upgradeble ?
