Hi, I'm taking some people and need to find something not too expensive. I need a hotel that has mehadrin shabbos meals unless someone can recommend something else...

I was hoping a room for about $150 or so a night...  walking distance to kotel etc....

Any suggestions?

$150 total, or per room.

If per room, I looked on expedia, and before using coupons, I found decent hotels at $130.

Lev Yerushalayim might be a tad too basic.. $150 per room...

I would also prefer a hotel which has shabbos meal options (similar to what the sheraton had...)

Also would like it to be walking distance to the old city.

The only option I see on expedia is Grand Hotel which doesn't seem to be mehadrin...

Should I be looking for prices through an agent?

didnt look at the rates but I dont care for either but they fit your bill;King Solomon or The Kings

otherwise find a Hotel that fits your bill and eat at a Hotel that is Glatt of cause unless you find a tourist at that place willing to purchase the meal tkts you will have to pay the VAT

I called an agent in Israel and will wait to see what they can find...

I'm thinking of going for the Plaza (formerly Sheraton) for $250 a night.... prepaid...  then shabbos meals are $80 ahead, but I guess price would be the same anywhere.. Any idea what citadel charged for shabbos meals?

Would have like the citadel but that's prob a lot more..

i know when it was still a *W Hotel friends from London used to get rates that were way before what we saw on SPG.com but Im sure it was in GBP so there would be a slight uptick if paying in $$ but then agai the GBP has been falling alot

If you know anyone in teh UK ask them to try and get you a quote as well

this probably will be the best place both for food and to stay away from a basic Hotel. FWIW the Citadel usually charges more per meal then the Plaza does on Succos the DC was $15 more per person per meal

I wouldnt recommend the KS for anything. I dont know which is worse its rooms or its food.

The Kings is not much betetr room wise , I heard they have some betetr rooms but then means extra $$ , I heard taht their food although not Plaza standards is suppose to be better then decent

Personally its been yrs since I have stayed at either and have no plans to return to either , nor would I recomend either
