I didn't know that wifi = router. I do plan on bringing my own modem and router. Any idea where I can get a good deal for a good pair?

Also, I will not be on the site when they will be coming down. Do I have to be there?
Make sure you aren't getting charged for their wifi service.
Not sure about any good deals currently but they come and go.
I don't think you have to be on site but it can be helpful. You can tell them where to put the wireing and ask them to set up your modem and wifi.
Which plan did you sign up for ?

Someone over 18 must be on site when they come, they usually call like a half hr before. If no one is there they will leave.

like $44 p month. 15 MBPS. Is that enough? Should I change that they should come down when I am there? Is it a big deal setting up a router and a modem?

They didn't even take a contact phone number for me  :o

When they say that they will be there from 8-9 o'clock, is that the time they will indeed be there, or they can show up anytime during the day?

Routers are pretty simple to set up. The only modem I've ever set up is theirs which was pretty simple too but had to cordinate with their tech dept.

Some one must be there with a computer after the install is done the tec has to login with his info and set things up that the service should work properly. ( I deal with them every summer).
No big deal setting up a router, however a modem can sometimes be an issue.

Thanks guys! Does it make sense that I am paying $44 for the plan and just like $1.50 tax?

Yes, there is no or very little tax on broadband service. Unlike phone etc that there is all these taxes and fees.

Just plug a telephone line into any jack, and all the jacks that are connected will work.

So the tech is now here, he claims that in order to use internet I need to use HIS modem because I can't connect a phone jack to MY modem. Does that make sense? He is telling me that I wont be charged for the modem if I use it for phone only. ???

That is correct. If you have your own modem and phone service through them but your own modem doesn't have a phone jack, you get a modem with a phone jack from them and they won't charge you rental fee. Only pay for rental if you use it for Internet

You quoted my post twice so not sure what's your question.
