Tickets from DEN - NYC
« on: April 20, 2010, 01:36:12 AM »
I was wondering if someone could possibly help me.
I'm trying to find 4 tickets from DEN to NYC for 6/20, but I can go as early as 6/17 if nec.  I'm only concerned at this point with one way, although I can also book an open jaw if nec. for the return.  I also can split into 2 sets of 2 tickets if 4 tickets together can't be found.
I've got MR points, Continental, AA, Delta points (enough of each for the above) but am having a tough time finding availability.
Thank you in advance.

Thank you.
I'd prefer to use mileage if at all possible.

Why? most people would rather use their miles on flights that are expensive

if you are having problems finding 4 free tkts why not fly on AA or UA if they have any availability on those flights with the cheap fares and buy the rest, finding 4 award tkts isnt easy and even 2 can be a pain to find

I had no Trouble finding 4 tkts for AA on 6/17

 1- DEN-DFW-LGA

 11:50am-2:40pm then 5:35pm-10pm

 2- DEN-DFW-EWR

 7:15am - 10:15am then 11:20am-4pm

I want to have flexibility to make changes.

outside of CO if you arent at the top level of Status you will pay dearly. AA will allow changes but not to the routing, so book a DEN-DFW-LGA thats it you cant then change it to DEN-ORD-LGA or you can but I think its $150 per tkt or for the 1st tkt and something less for each 1 beyond that

with CO no 1 way redemptions so its 25k even if you dont use the return portion, not sure I think only AA & UA allow for 1 way redemptions at 1/2 the r/t amount

Since when does AA not allow changes to the routing?  I've done this many times without any fees.  UA also allows changes.  I can do CO as I can do an open jaw for the return.  I believe you can make changes on CO up to 21 days in advance without a fee.

as for CO thats why I said "outside of CO.."

I had on hold a tkt to LHR back in Dec all that was available for my return was a real Lousy routing, I asked if I could change it once tkted and was told I couldnt change Carriers or the routing once it was tkted w/o any fees but if there was availbility on other flights with the same routing I could. So a LHR-RDU-JFK couldnt be changed to a LHR-JFK non-stop or to a LHR-BOS-JFK could be that agent was wrong, it didnt matter as the I kept putting off the tkting till the last day before the $50 would be charged and the non-stop I wanted opened up.

I think UA is only as long as you havent flown any segments as yet, I never ca$hed in my UA miles yet

AA (as well as CO) allow for free date and routing changes as long as Origin/Destination are the same.

UA only allows date changes.  Routing changes are $150 and no changes to Star Alliance tickets are permitted after departure with UA.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Actually, I had checked all the options but prefer not to travel AA b/c 1.  they don't fly direct and 2. the charge for luggage (I am UA Premier.)

But thanx for your help anyway!

fully understand so why did you include them in your post when you mentioned what you had in hand in order to get free tkts?

Im still lost if you know how to check for these things and did so for this upcoming trip and seems you have numerous times in the past as well. What were you hoping for?? Why would anyone get a different result then you did? = why make such a post to begin with?

youd be surprised how many people dont know how to do it and arent as asute as you are.
