Maybe I should just open up a new account? My current account doesn't have status or anything. Just 50k lifetime miles which isn't going to get me anything anytime soon.

On my acct which had the spend, the miles are still there. On my moms it removed (didn't have the spend)

And I just got it....

Here's the story:
Meshugener:
Hi,

A few months ago, I had a banner on my united.com profile offers to
enroll in a promotion that would give me 5,000 miles after I spend
$1000
with my Chase United Mileage Plus credit card.
So I enrolled in the offer (and captured a screenshot of it) and spent
the $1000.
but so far I didnt recieve any of these miles.
Would you mind to give a look into iy and credit me the miles?

I spoke to Chase and they told me the promotion was runned by United,
not by Chase, thus its not their responsibility to honor the miles and
I should contact United.
And it seems right since it was marketed on the United website.

Please stop going in circles with me, thats really not nice of you, I've been emailing you for the past few months back and forth for a stupid 5000 miles, and I couldnt get that done with you.
You make me annoyed, and it simply sounds like you just want to have me emailing you till I give up on this.
A real shame to do this for a customer.

It's unfortunate that instead of projecting a positive image of United Airline, you sour the customer experience with your poor service. in my case i saw one bonus of 5k posted to my account but wasnt sure if that was from this promo or from my AU i added. so i emailed united and they said that they see ive gotten 5k added so then i went to chase and said wheres my 5k from AU, and they replied that its been added.
So i wrote back that, that was uniteds promo and i never got 5k from AU.

After further investigation I have found that the 5000
bonus miles posting on November 20, 2012, were in fact
miles earned for adding an Authorized User to your account

possibly have been an offer extended by United
MileagePlus.

As an exception and due to the confusion I have added 5000

I inquired as to why my miles were removed and received the following response from UA within 24 hours:
