Using BMI Silver status to upgrade on Continental flights
« on: April 20, 2010, 05:03:32 PM »
How do I use my BMI Silver to get upgrades/lounge access on a continental flight I booked using my onepass number? Are there any such upgrades and if yes, how do I get them?

I am flying EWR to STL to EWR if that means anything.

it wont help.

Only a star alliance gold has some inter airline benefits.

officially, silver should give you a little extra chance to be bumped up...

Free bags.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Not really sure what sort of upgrade your looking for: On non-stop flights between EWR and STL there is no first class. Its one of their regional jets.

I just got free bags and an upgrade to economy plus on United with BMI Silver. Probably could have gotten first but it was booked. They offered it though.

Truth is i was still inside the 28 days so when I gave them mybmi number it came up as silver. But I'm sure if I show them my card they'll upgrade me too. Just make sure to get there early enough.

i flew united 4 or 5 days after we all signed up and i added my bmi(which was silver) to my flight and they made me pay for luggage...i called and emailed a bunch of times and finally today, one month later, i got an email that my refund will arrive within 10 days... but it was worth my time... i learnt that united is very generous with vouchers... :)
