You do realize that YVR ain't exactly too warm now..
Yup.
Preference is to go somewhere warm but the idea is just to get away for 2 days.

It's still 40 degrees warmer than it is here in the Midwest.  :P

I was happy to take 40-50 degrees in Japan over NY this past week. HKG should be even warmer.

Nice for a day or so, but mainly beaches and not much else.

Time to start planning a summer trip.
I want something without too much of a time zone change from EST. Hawaii is about as far as I'll go.
Thinking of either Hawaii, Alaska, Banff, Vancouver or Colorado.

Considerations: I've been to Hawaii already, and I have access to a house in CO.

1-2 weeks.
Why not Alaska? From the TR's it sounds like a real amazing place, the reason why its not that picked up is because you need a lot of time, if i had up to 2 weeks it would definitely be my first choice. (Banff you could do in 1 week)

Not sure how easy Alaska will be with kids, depends on the ages. Alaska requires a lot of traveling because its a big state and you will want to see it all.

I don't think Alaska is for young kids. They won't enjoy it at all, you'll just be dragging them around
