Planning a vacation in May with a couple of friends. Cancun vs Bahamas?

I had a great time in Bahamas, but it seems like Cancun has a lot more to offer.

+1
I haven't been to either but from research alone I agree.

Everything very expensive to do at Paradise Island, and CUN has so much more.

Need advice for a summer trip ex-LAX. Have AA miles to burn and 2 IHG, 4 Hyatt. First choice is EZE, but no availability as of yet. As a backup or 5 days, we're considering MIA, ORD, or BOS. If we do BOS we would probably down to NYC for a few more days.
This isn't going to be a fast-paced trip- more about walking and sight seeing. Tropical locations (Hawaii, Mexico, Costa Rica, etc.) are out. And GOOD kosher food is a huge plus. Suggestions?

BOS is good for sightseeing, but not the greatest food there.
What are you looking to go see?

ORD is a good option for Kosher food, and there's plenty to do. And if you are interested in doing Chi-town, you definitely want to make it a summer trip as opposed to coming during the miserable winter!!

On that note take MIA off your summer plan list.

Exactly! MIA in the winter, ORD in the summer.

Canada is also a great place for sightseeing in the summer, and YYZ and YUL (YVR a bit too) all have lots of kosher food.

+1 Algonquin Park is gorgeous in the summer, as is the whole Muskoka region, especially if you're a boating kinda guy.

Plus, there are enough people with summer homes in Muskoka that you can get minyanim daily throughout the summer.

Haven't done much research yet but from what I understand its a beautiful city and there's plenty to see by just walking around different neighborhoods.  We might do Cape Cod one day.
ORD is a good option for Kosher food, and there's plenty to do. And if you are interested in doing Chi-town, you definitely want to make it a summer trip as opposed to coming during the miserable winter!!
Exactly! MIA in the winter, ORD in the summer.
Coming from LA where the weather is mild all year round we actually like going to cold-weather destinations in the winter- otherwise it doesn't really feel like winter. But I guess Chicago winters are more extreme than we would like.

So ORD in summer, MIA in winter. BOS is decent, but no great food. I'm starting to wonder if we should save US destinations for long weekends, and do something bigger since we have the time? We're thinking about GRU/GIG- any thoughts on safety? We would rather not go somewhere where we have to look over our backs a lot.
