Seems like it may be close to a wash, but i would earn stay credits and not have to MS another 129k points which will also cost time and money...

Make sense?

Yup enjoy :)

Does Hilton award points for the cash portion of s C+P booking (like Hyatt does)? If so you'll earn some HH points as well to tip the scales.

No. You realize how crazy that sounds?

The whole *reason* you MS is to earn points, to use them, to save you money.

Now that you've earned them, you've somehow convinced yourself it's better to spend more money to avoid further MS? Oiy.

Such a scenario would make sense if you were contemplating redeeming for a domestic business award when you would otherwise redeem for international premium cabin.

In that case it may make sense. But unless you have a better use in mind for HH points...

Potentially getting a head start on hotels for my next vacation.

I do get the point of MS is to save the money. Ultimately, is spending time and money to MS an additional ~130k HH better than paying money, earning points and stay credit.

I will end up MS'ing, because it is fun in it's own way and not an inconvenience to me currently. It also helps that i am going to spend the 40k for Diamond status and will have the HH points before that is done.

... Or the next one, or the next one.

You're head start comes at the expense of $$.

So, unless you're getting poor value..

True.

Like i mentioned, was looking for feedback and this definitely solidifies my ultimate decision/need to MS the points for the stay and status.

Looking for a nice resort, preferably on a beach front, within 3 hours flying of NYC. Cant be out of the country, for health insurance reasons.
Anyone has any recommendations, just not Miami :)

Thanks

Hilton Head?

Sounds nice, any specific resorts there you recommend?
Also, there dont seem to be any nonstop flights there from NYC?

So I am about to book a flight for the weekend to Antigua, anyone ever been there? looking to get a hotel with points or for that matter anything. Obviously all inclusive is the best. any tips let me know.
(dont even know if this is the right thread)
I'm looking at a possible trip to Antigua in the summer. Where did you end up staying?

So I was originally planning on going to Shanghai next weekend but now double thinking it.

I already have a ticket to HKG, get there thursday, leave Monday night. I don't mind ditching my flight home and finding another option. Where should I go, what should I do?

Should I make a random trip to Australia, Maldives? Someplace....

What does everyone here say? Decisions, decisions.

I don't think you want to take a romantic trip to the Maldives. Maybe Bali or Thailand.
