I don't think you want to take a romantic trip to the Maldives. Maybe Bali or Thailand.

I kind of want that isolation feel, but on the other hand I might just go to shanghai.

Maybe shanghai for the weekend and then Bali or Thailand?

Don't you have to book these places months in advance when using points?

Try the Colorado thread. I wrote up a TR. (As have others.)

If you transfer UR>SW it can be as low as 16-18K RT.

Do you have the link please?

Also, I dont currently have a SW account. Can I just make account and transfer points right away?
How long in advance do I have to book the trip in order to get deals between 16k-18k?

Stickied to the top of the Trip/Destination Reports board is a thread that has a wiki with links to every destination discussed on DDF. Get used to it, it's helpful. Or searching Colorado when you're in this board will find it too.

Usually 6 weeks out will still have SW at the low rates. Can transfer as soon as you make an account. Flies nonstop twice a day from each LGA and EWR.

Which place, Bali or Thailand would be nice. any hotels have free kayaks to use?

I want a nice few days by the beach, relaxing, nothing to do.

You have to leave someplace to visit with your wife after you get married, at the rate your going you will have only a few hic towns left to go to  :)

Is Italy worth doing with a pregnant wife? I'd like to go in August when she'll B"H be in her 7th month. Is it going to be hot and to much walking around for her? Is Thailand or Brazil/Argentina a better option? Thanks

Ask your OB re flying in the 7th month.

I would expect it to be hot. In Rome, the sites are usually a good 20-30 min walk, but you could technically take cabs. I imagine she won't do too well on trains, so you'd probably want to rent a car to get to other cities. Florence and Pisa shouldn't be too bad re: walking around. Venice is a lot of walking. The taxis (water boats) are very expensive, so most people walk around, but that might not be too easy for a pregnant woman.

Ask your OB re flying in the 7th month.
Under normal circumstances, up to 34-36 weeks shouldn't be an issue.

I've heard that some airlines want a doctors note that it's ok to fly though. Just what I've heard, so you may want to look into that...

+1

We got a letter when my wife flew pregnant as the airlines told us we'd need it after 28 weeks. The first airline we flew didn't ask to see it and so we forgot to take it for the second flight, when they did ask to see it. We had to get someone back home to fax it through. Yes, fax. When it finally came and they let us check in, the guy says, "Ma'am, you're late and the flight has just about completed boarding, please run through security." Then he looks at my very pregnant wife and says, "Or maybe just walk quickly."
