If you want an "easy" vacation, do Caribbean or Mexico. You can be more adventurous and try SE Asia if you want.
When the 2 year old was 6 months old we took her to Beijing Singapore Bali and Bangkok which actually worked out pretty nicely. It's a shame I don't like to repeat.

In that case scratch Scotland..

I guess it will have to just be a beach vacation with some scuba on the side. Now it's between the Caribbean and Kauai I guess. Fiji would be cool but I think the travelling and all would be difficult.

We are supposed to go to cancun next week,  Monday through Wednesday,  and it now appears it will rain all week.  Any suggestions for a beach/relaxing vacation with good weather next week?

OK, PEK is out. Too cold in Jan. Any other SE Asia destinations that would be good at that time of year? Has anyone been to TPE?

MNL do some of the Islands like Palawan, Princess Puerto some really beautiful sights to see.

Enjoy! MNL should definitely be on the list though for a future visit. Everything is dirt cheap/nicest people in the world/kosher food/beautiful beaches.....

My wife and I are trying to go away for 3 business days (5 days total including weekend) without the kids. Dates would be July 15-19 or July 16-20. What would good options be? Don't want to travel too far as I am limited to days and don't want to spend too much time getting there.

She was thinking Vegas. Any other good tips would be very much appreciated.

By not wanting to go far, I imagine your limiting yourself to continental US and Carribean. So what do you want to do? Sit on a beach? Go hiking? See famous sites? Good shows/nightlife?

Personally, I'd probably do Costa Rica or Caribbean.

Quote from my wife: "Doesn't appeal to me bc driving just makes me nervous the whole time"

Lol. I really should go and get myself a license (they won't overwrite my foreign license into a US one) so I can do the driving.
