Vermont, New Hampshire, Cape Cod are options. You always drive to Chicago, St. Louis or other places. Kind of hard to pick when "vacation" is what you want to do.

+1 to Cape Cod. Take a boat ride from Chatham to a private beach. so peaceful & nice. dont go in the water near the seals though.. great whites are there at times..

Do you have a TR?
I don't.  Stayed at Gore Mountain in a condo.  Went to 6 flags Great Escapes. Did tubing down a lazy river with http://www.tubbytubestubing.com - they even had a tube for babies who can sit. Went on boat ride at Lake George which is a very touristy spot.

Thanks, sorry for not being so specific.  Im basically just looking for a really nice place, with decent hotel options, and a couple of activities for like a sun-thurs vacation. Cape cod sounds like an option, any activities there? How does it compare to outer banks,  Virginia Beach?

Any ideas for a couple with a baby? Would drive up to 10 hours, just looking for a nice place with decent hotels.
Myrtle beach. Very nice sheraton villas at 10k per night

Yeah it is a little far to drive. Right up at your 10 hour mark :)  Not really any special activities. The usual - watersports, biking by the beach etc. they do have 3 minyanim a day and kosher food if that makes a diff

Since I canceled my Priceline/Eithed ticket to HKG, the world of oppertunities had opened for me...

Now the question is should I go to HI or rather Italy? Both are on my bucket list, (well HI is on the DW bucket list...). Which one should I rather do first?

With that much time you would want to do multiple islands in HI, or can travel all over Italy. I would say go to Italy.

Forgot to mention that I would want the cheaper option, flying will be with points, but the stay and activities would cost me. Which would be more economical?

Hawaii would be the option for you. Italy will not be cheap.

I have been to Cape Cod. I went with friends and stayed at the Four Points we used SPG points. we found the hotel to be very sub par. there isn't much to do in the area other than water sports and nice beaches. we rented a boat nearby at a marina and we took it out on the water to one of the many small islands nearby. it was really cool to be on an island by ourselves. it seems like most of the action on Cape Cod is in Provincetown. Provincetown is only a boat ride away from Martha's Vineyard. unless you're going to relax at the beach for 2 to 3 days or less I wouldn't recommend it.
