I was the Grand Canyon last week and it was not hot. Was in the 70's. This was at the rim though, not at the bottom of the canyon.

However, if you plan to hike into the canyon below the rim, be prepared for much warmer conditions. In fact, summer temperatures along the Colorado River at the canyon bottom can reach as high as 120 ºF / 47 ºC.

If you want to hike into the canyon (which I highly recommend), I suggest you get a very early start

Are there any over water bungalow options similar to the Maldives, where one would not have to shell out serious dough to get a confirmed booking with points ?
