Hi all. Thank you in advance.

I am looking for a 1 week or less vacation for the winter time traveling from the NYC area. I am traveling with just my wife and we want to go somewhere tropical. I have 100K SPG probably don't have enough for over the water bungalows but I also have like 200K Marriott points and I don't mind switching hotels mid vacation. Any ideas? have enough miles to cover basically any trip.

Thank you in advance

Jeremy

Any other criteria? SJU, STT, CUN are some options.

For someone arriving in SYD on a American mileage award. where would you recommend ex-SYD for free as part of the mileage ticket, that aa would allow that routing? MEL, AKL somewhere else?

I was thinking about Hawaii. worth it to sign up for another spg card and have my wife sign up for 2 spgs (one consumer, one business) during the promo? will that extra 100K (with all required spending and general spending) be enough for about a week in the French Polynesian area?

There are lots of other cards/currencies that can get you to places. What does your wallet look like?

if you're referring to my mileage wallet, I don't really have much other hotel points, I have 300K or so AA, 75 UA, 75 citi and think that's really it. my actual wallet wants to stay in tact for a vacation. I don't want to spend a lot of money

I was referring to which CC's you have and can use for a trip. You have a nice amount of AA to fly to the Maldives if you were so inclined.

would love that but I don't think I have enough hotel points to stay there... I also have roughly 130K BA

really appreciate the responses. thank you.

I have the united explorer, spg amex, citi premier, and randomly the Amex zync card from back in the day that ive never closed because I haven't found a tier 2 amex card I can get that gets me the amex points that can be transferred out. im thinking of using my wife's platinum offer code (same last name) so I can finally close the zync

You can get a few nights with SPG in MLE. Maybe a few more if your wife gets a card or two.

If the Zync is an older card, keep it open for CR purposes. +

Have a friend who wants to do a trip, and is willing to sign up for a card or 2 (he has a credit score, but is not in the game) to make it happen.
Ideas?
