Starting work mid-September. Have free time between graduation and bar studying and between taking the bar and start date. Getting it all in now.
enjoy and good luck

Here.
So I read your trip report, and decided that I should just do a shorter Hawaii trip in May (5 days/1 Island), and then a 10-12 trip to HKG/Thailand because it looks awesome. Problem is, then I went and read AJK's trip (which is incredible! wow!) and realized that a lot of the activities that he did, I wouldn't really be able to do with a kid (elephant rides, zip lining, ATVing, etc.). So now I'm torn. On the one hand, I agree that a one year old would love some of the activities in Thailand, but on the other hand, going to Thailand with a kid would prevent me from doing other awesome activities. Decisions, decisions...

There certainly are activities you can do with kids there as well. Also, you don't just have to go to Chiang Mhai.

I was thinking of a few days in Chiang Mhai and then a few days in Koh Samui. Been to Phuket.

Now to find availability... What are my best options from Thailand back to US if I want to use AA or MR points?

AA > CX via HKG.

MR > Could do a few things. SQ via SIN. Or also just look at AC for availability.

Any kids under 2? If yes, look into KE, but would need UR to transfer in.

Yup, she'll be 1. Problem is, I'm probably going to be a little short on UR after booking to Hawaii. Why is KE better if I'm going with a kid under 2? Lower fees?

Cathay Pacific charges 25% of the adult revenue ticket, plus taxes & fees for flights to/from US – ouch!

I remember reading that KE only allows round trip award bookings. Is that only on partner airlines, or when flying on KE metal too? Because then it won't really work for this routing...
